Gertie’s Bar Now Accepting Members To Whiskey Society

The members-only whiskey society will bring together Nashville’s Brown Water Enthusiasts

Gertie’s Bar at The 404 Kitchen currently holds more than 400 whiskey offerings and has been named one of the Best Places to Drink Whiskey in Nashville by The Tennessean, one of America’s Best Bourbon Bars by The Bourbon Review, and the Best Whiskey Bar in Tennessee by Thrillist.

Today, they are giving guests a chance to become “members” at their brand-new Whiskey Society. Launching with an extremely limited number of memberships, Whiskey Society members will spend evenings sharing drinks with friends from their limited-series, exclusive bottles which they will receive six times per year. These bottles will be personally chosen by whiskey enthusiast and Chef Matt Bolus and every member will have his or her own private, keyed locker at Gertie’s where their bottles will be stored.

Membership perks will evolve, keeping each offering exciting. From planned soirees to private tastings, from lectures with distillers to rooftop cocktail events, whiskey pairings and cooking demos with Chef Bolus, each event will present something outrageous in the name of whiskey for those who join.

The perks will also include member holiday parties, whiskey cocktail classes and whiskey education classes. If you’ve ever wanted to sit down with staff at Gertie’s and learn how to make the perfect Old Fashioned at home, this is your chance!  Members will also enjoy other samples and perks throughout the year, including early access to the restaurant’s public events, member discounts and preferred reservations at The 404 Kitchen for up to 4 guests. Members will also receive the “whiskey chat” emails with information on whiskey offerings, cocktail recipes, pairing ideas and other fun tidbits.

“It’s a fun way to bring a close-knit group of guests together to enjoy what is a hobby and passion for us,” explains Matt Bolus, executive chef at The 404 Kitchen. “It’s something that I think Gertrude Lythgoe would be proud of.”
